Duo exhibition by Hannah Schleifer and Enrico Carpi

Reliable Surface explores the road as both a surface and a site of perception. The car becomes a capsule through which we experience movement, carrying us from one place to another. The exhibition hosts perspectives from within the vehicle alongside observations of its surroundings, including the road itself.

Hannah Schleifer’s video work focuses on the phenomenon of Gravity Hills, where the landscape appears to defy gravity and makes drivers question their perception. Enrico Carpi’s series of photographic prints traces the relation between landscape and movement, transforming moments of transit into images.

Hannah Schleifer and Enrico Carpi are members of the The Servers (www.the-servers.net) and they present their work at at SUNSET as a first step of an exchange between the spaces.

at SUNSET is a Scheveningen based art space which shares its space with a shifting selection of national and international artist-run spaces. at SUNSET is a non-regular initiative that seeks to create dialogue, exchange and connection with a focus on the process with artists.
