Join us for a playful evening focused on electronic music production. Whether you’re just starting out or have years of experience, this evening is all about fast pace experimenting, connecting, and having fun with sound!
Who’s it for?
This event is for anyone who enjoys playing with sound. From curious beginners to experienced producers. All levels are welcome. It’s a great way to meet other producers, try out new ideas, and create something unexpected together.
What to bring:
– A laptop, phone, or tablet with a music production app: Ableton, Logic, FL Studio, GarageBand (even the mobile versions)
– Headphones
– If you have them:
Mini-jack to big jack adapter
Audio interface for external gear
Any instruments, synths, microphones, or fun devices you’d like to share or use yourself
Part 1: Music Production Talk & Demo
We’ll begin with a presentation by producer Andrzej Konieczny. In this live demo, Andrzej will show creative strategies in music-making. Through playing and discussing, he’ll cover topics such as:
– Creative and live approaches to sound production
– The use of gated and ungated 80s-style drums
– Embracing “happy accidents” in the creative process
– Experimental and playful ways of processing sound.
Part 2: The Clock Roulette Music Production Game
Afer the talk, we’ll start a music-making game. Here’s how it works:
– Everyone brings their own device with a music production app (laptop, phone, tablet, etc.) and sits at a shared table.
– When the timer starts, each person begins working on a short track using their own setup.
– Every 10 minutes, a bell rings and everyone rotates to the next device.
– You continue developing the track started by someone else.
– This continues until everyone returns to their original project, but now completely reshaped by the group.
Part 3: Listening Session
At the end of the game, we’ll gather to listen to what everyone created and have some drinks. You’ll go home with a new project!
