Opening: Ariane Toussaint at See Lab

‘Ouvrages de Dames’ (Ladies’ Works) is a solo show featuring a new series of curtains by Ariane Toussaint on the topics of textile crafts and domestic labour. Made of found domestic cloth, they are pieced into patchworks and hand printed with patterns taken from handicrafts books. Thus, by zooming in and enlarging found images of sewing details, the artist explores how a feminist handwriting can be developed, giving importance to hidden narratives that are usually found behind curtains, in the intimacy of our homes.
