Luca Tichelman: MY ALL • A LOW BUDGET SPECTACLE at Das Leben am Haverkamp

Luca Tichelman (1995, NL) primarily focuses on video, alongside photography and small moving sculptures. She is deeply interested in the ingredients that create the story of a Self and the need to repeat that story in order to affirm one’s existence. By creating staged settings in which characters play a collection of different roles, she explores the innate human longing for a sense of belonging and the key role of identity in fulfilling this need. In a sense, Luca is rediscovering a childhood pastime – playing different roles in her room. Now turning this experience into an exploration of the fundamental human need to play.
