What can emerge in what is left unsaid or unseen? With the exhibition “I wrote these letters, such that strangers did not know / And you, out of benevolence, read as only you know,” the artist collective To See the Inability to See invites visitors to look more slowly, read more attentively, and dwell in what unfolds between the lines.

The three artists, Arefeh Riahi, Martín La Roche Contreras, and Maartje Fliervoet, bring together images, objects, voices, and gestures to create a space that feels like a conversation. They explore themes of intimacy, femininity, queer spaces, and the power of what remains invisible.

This exhibition builds on “My Garden’s Boundaries Are the Horizon”, a hybrid publication developed by the collective with designer Elisabeth Klement. In 2024, it took shape at De Appel (Amsterdam) as a performance as well as a space to gather. At Page Not Found, the project continues to grow. The publication unfolds into the space, in dialogue with other materials, texts, and visitors.
