Claire Tabouret

31 January, 202625 May, 2026

In early 2026, Voorlinden will present the first major museum survey of the work of Claire Tabouret (1981). With her fluid, almost liquid brushstrokes and bold colour palette, the French artist allows figures to dissolve onto the canvas. In her solo exhibition, she invites you into a world where painting transcends its own boundaries and enters into dialogue with sculpture.

In her paintings and sculptures, Claire Tabouret explores the complexity of human emotions and relationships. She focuses on themes such as identity and the enigmatic phases of childhood and adolescence, both on an individual level and within groups. Her work is imbued with references to art history, within which she forges her own path. Tabouret pushes the boundaries of painting by working with unconventional materials such as faux fur and layers of fabric, which she paints over. Voorlinden presents a carefully curated selection of paintings and sculptures from the past ten years of her career. In her solo exhibition, you can trace Claire’s artistic development, and discover how she continually reinvents herself and expands the possibilities of painting.
