This edition of Typographic Nights — curated by Paulina Trzeciak — turns its focus towards a new generation of graphic designers. It brings together three recent graduates whose practices offer distinct approaches to type design, publishing and image-making.

Working live and responding to texts submitted by the audience, Junghyeok Park, Malva Askerup and Nu Zając will each approach the same format through their own methods, tools and visual languages. Their practices move between systematic and intuitive, digital and analogue, from type design and editorial structures to scanning, collage, stamping and physical interventions.

While Nu Zając’s practice approaches typography through the construction of typefaces and books, Malva Askerup works across design and editing, exploring collective and feminist publishing practices through typography, image and material form. Junghyeok Park foregrounds hands-on processes, using tools such as stamps, paper and ink to explore repetition, transformation and the traces left behind through making.

By giving the floor to recent graduates, Typographic Nights offers a space to test ideas freely, while inviting the audience into the often unseen processes behind graphic design.
